After a grueling spelling bee, PJHS will be sending two spellers to the Scioto County Spelling Bee on February, 12, 2012 -7:00 PM at the Friends Center. J. Gill won the honor of top speller, while D. Layne took the runner-up spot. Both students are only 7th graders. Congratulations!

Three Portsmouth City students have received Superior ratings at the Scioto County Science Fair and will advance to the District Science Fair. H. Simmons, 8th Grader at PJHS, who also won the top prize in the Chemistry category for grades 7-12; S. Simmons, 6th grader at PES and J. Book, 6th grader at PES, who also won a Top Ten Award for grades 5 and 6. The District Fair will be held at SSU on March 31. Good luck to all!
